Tips to Make Your Posts Stand Out

Tips to make your posts stand out.

The online world of today is completely different from the world of say ten years ago. A lot more people are online than there were ten years ago, and they spend a lot more time online. In other words, people are always online. As a result, if you are a blogger seeking to develop a major blogging presence you must make your blogs appealing to the viewers to ensure they get read. To build a major presence online through you blogs there are some rules to follow when publishing content that will make your content appealing to the viewer. In this post we will discuss some tips to make your post stand out and will improve the chances of you content getting read.

Blog Consistently

One of the most essential aspects of blogging is making sure that you add new material to your website on a consistent basis. If you blog consistently you will keep your readers coming back to your site to read what you have to say. The amount of time between each of your blog posts should be the same, so that readers will know when to expect your next post. If you are inconsistent with your posts readers will not know when you will be posting again. For example, if post blog two days in a row then don’t post another post for a week, readers will get out of the habit of reading your posts. The following article shows three steps to develop consistency in your blogs. Three simple steps to blog consistently

No Duplicate Content

Tips to make your posts stand out. No duplicate content.

You cannot have duplicate content. If you do you run the risk of having your site tagged for spam by the search engines. Duplicate content is when you publish content that already appears in other locations on the internet. Google and the other search engines could end up tagging your site for spam or ignoring it altogether. However, if you publish your posts/pages using the Site Content feature here at Wealthy Affiliate you do not have to worry about publishing duplicate content. Because Site Content includes a Duplicate Content Checker to make sure your content is original.

Content Must Be Unique

Search engines love unique content. So, make sure that your content is compelling and unique. In other words, if all you do is provide news updates that can be found in other places your content will not be unique because there are so many other blogs doing the same thing. To make your blog standout you must offer your readers your own unique opinions that won’t be found anywhere else. By creating unique content that is relevant and interesting to the reader, your site has a greater chance of rising to the top of the rankings.

Make the Content Readable

It is essential that you publish readable content. In other words, make your content easy to read so that visitors to your site will read it as opposed to skipping over it. People who read blogs, as a rule, are very impatient and are not going to read “novels” of content. Some readers like to scan the posts to get the gist of what it is about. So, give the reader something to catch his attention.

Readable content is covered in-depth in our Bootcamp training here at Wealthy Affiliate. In one of the boothcamp training videos, “Creating Readable Contents That Converts”, Kyle gave the following six rules of creating quality content online:

  1. Use Small Paragraphs
  2. Separate your ideas with HEADING tabs (h3 or h4, read post)
  3. Black or dark grey text on white background
  4. Use conversational speak
  5. Use a captivating headline
  6. Use a relevant image within the first fold of the page

Blog about Subjects you know

Make sure to always blog about subjects that you know about or that you are passionate about. Kyle has made that very clear in the training here at WA. Do not blog about subjects that you have no interest in or know anything about. If you do you could come across as uninformed or that you are unsure of what you are writing about. This will turn readers off and they will stop visiting your site.

Ask for Comments

Ask readers to leave comments on your blog. That is another issue that Kyle has made perfectly clear. Leaving comments means that the reader is engaged. This will make your readers come back to your site and read you blog later. Also, do not forget to add a call to action. Tell the reader what you want him to do whether you want him to sign up or buy something.

Conclusion

Hopefully, by putting these ideas into practice you will have a better grasp of blogging in today’s online environment. Also, keep in mind to always be on the looking for new information about blogging as the world today changes at a rapid pace. This will enable you to keep up with the latest blogging trends.
